Mark Summers will assume the position of Divisional Manager of the Mid West and Northern Divisions on August 1, giving him responsibility for all sales and service aspects of these regions.

The vacancy comes with the retirement of George Moorhead, who has been the Divisional Director for both divisions since 2003.

Mark Summers says: "I am delighted to have this opportunity, although I realise that I have big shoes to fill. George Moorhead is a man who has always led from the front, is innovative and never afraid of change. He has done a great job in both divisions and my job will be to build on his achievements."

Mark joined Heidelberg as a salesman for the Northern Division in 2002 with a proven press engineering and sales background. He has been Sales Manager of the Mid West Division for three years.

George Clarke says: "Mark will do a great job; he is a worthy successor for George Moorhead. George has made an enormous contribution to the sales success of the company and has also been one of the key architects in very many initiatives, not least the drive to sell long perfectors in the UK and the script writing and overall look and feel of many of our major shows, culminating in the One Pass Productivity presentation at drupa 2008. George Moorhead is proud of Heidelberg and Heidelberg is proud of George and what he has achieved."

George Moorhead says: "Part of a Senior Manager’s job, especially an ageing one, is to keep one eye out for someone to take his place and I am very proud of the fact that Andy Rae, Southern Division Director, came through the Mid West and that I am now handing the reins of the Mid West into the very safe hands of Mark Summers. Mark impressed me when I worked with him in the Northern Division. He understands the products and the sales process. He has authority and can work with people in a team - an important strength in today’s market. I know that both the Mid West and Northern Division will go from strength to strength with Mark at the helm."
