Belfast Print Finishers has centralised three sites into a single 12,500 sq ft factory six miles north of Belfast, an excellent location for serving all the main commercial printers in Northern Ireland. All 25 staff have moved across.
The company has added a Stahlfolder TD 66 from Heidelberg and will next month also install two stacklifts and a jogger to its Polar 115E guillotine, materials handling that will increase productivity significantly as well as making cutting easier physically for the operator.
The TD 66 is working alongside another Stahlfolder TD 78, the new machine being added to overcome bottlenecks as work is fed through to the company’s stitching and binding lines.
Joint managing director Alan McMorris says: “We are used to Stahlfolders and we like them because we know we will get the production and speed we need to serve a demanding market. Some of the modules, such as the knife unit, can be switched between the folders which is a real advantage.”
