Primary Print will take delivery of a Ti 52 buckle folder and an ST100 six-station saddle-stitcher with cover feeder in the next two months. This will cut its outsourcing bill significantly and may even open up opportunities for additional trade work in addition to its direct business.
The Cardiff company has invested heavily with Heidelberg over the last year, taking a Printmaster PM 52, a QM 46, a Topsetter thermal CtP system and Polar 78X guillotine.
Managing Director Steve Dickinson says: “Everything we have bought from Heidelberg has gone very well so far. They offer a good warranty and service back up so we came back to them. By having stitching in-house we will have greater control of our work and with deadlines getting tighter and tighter that is important.”
Indeed Primary Print is growing so fast that it has rented an adjacent building but will move to a purpose built premises within six months or a year. The size is not yet finalised with architects working on various plans.
