Paper Style has placed an order for a Printmaster QM 46-2 after visiting Heidelberg’s mobile trailer which is currently on a UK tour taking small offset technology to customers nationwide.
“The Heidelberg trailer is fabulous for this type of equipment. I could nip out, get a feel for the machine and make a decision. It’s much easier than going across to the company’s Leeds showroom,” says Mike Taylor, Managing Director of Paper Style in Manchester.
The company has two Speedmaster SM 74-6 but needed a press that would mop up the stationery and spot colour work that its full colour customers also put its way.
“We wanted the speed of the Speedmaster in small offset,” says Mr Taylor. “The small footprint leaves us room for expansion.”
Paper Style will use its existing Topsetter 74 to output metal plates to run on the Printmaster QM 46. Average runs on this machine will be 1,000 to 10,000 and it will match the other presses operating double day shifts, often seven days a week.
The press replaces an older two-colour GTO. The company concedes that choosing Heidelberg was a given because it likes the back up and also because it likes the seamless workflow. From next year it will start to look at how it can link its departments using JDF technology for faster set ups.
The company works direct with companies nationwide, supplying high quality commercial print. Big markets include London, Liverpool and Greater Manchester.
