The Clunie Group has invested in a Printmaster QM 46 from Heidelberg as part of its expansion programme which has also included a new platesetter, a wide format printer and the opening, in October, of a third showroom store in Helensburgh.
The group was formed into a single limited business on 1 February 2004, bringing together three businesses: The Print Shop, Oban; Oban Office Supplies; and Lochaber Office Supplies.
Now this single entity offers design and print, copying, stationery, business machines, office furniture and printer cartridges with sales, operations and finance based at the head office in Oban. The two existing showroom stores are in Oban and Fort William with Helensburgh due to open next month.
Clunie Group director Phil Brien says: “We have taken on board the Printmaster QM 46-2 to help improve the quality of our printed product and to increase ouput. As a business our customers demand a diverse range of quality products and services which, on the printing side, includes everything from single colour business cards to full colour brochures. The QM 46-2 enables us to manage our jobbing activity more efficiently while freeing up our four-colour GTO to concentrate on full process work.”
The company needed a reliable press with quick makereadies and the ability to handle a range of different jobs. A number of alternative suppliers were reviewed with cost, output, quality and back up reviewed before deciding on the QM 46.
