Heidelberg has invested in a mobile demonstration trailer to tour around the UK enabling people in the print media industry to get a local look at some of the latest prepress, press, finishing, MIS, consumables and Prinect networking developments available.

Jim Todd, Sales Director of Heidelberg UK, says: "We have a long history of running mobile tours and we felt it was a good time to invest in a custom-designed vehicle fitted out with the facilities to power prepress, printing and finishing equipment."

"This is both an educational and sales asset for Heidelberg and reflects our commitment to customers of all sizes. Many printers cannot spare the time to travel long distances to view equipment but would welcome the chance to have a local or regional venue where they could meet our experts, view equipment and discuss current issues. Smaller customers today will be major players tomorrow and that is something Heidelberg never loses sight of."

The 10.6 metre long air-conditioned trailer is capable of housing several pieces of equipment and, subject to demand tours will reflect what people want to see. The trailer also features plasma screen presentations so seminars will be a feature of each tour. The first series of tours have already commenced in Scotland and Northern Ireland. On board is a Printmaster PM 52-2 perfector and a Printmaster QM 46-2 press.

Richard Bradley, Marketing Manager for Heidelberg small format presses says, the vehicle is being well received. "Customers who have already been on-board are complimentary about the facilities we’re providing. It’s amazing watching a press going flat-out on the back of a truck. It’s testimony to both the trailer’s construction and the quality of the equipment."

The trailer has its own website address www.heidelberg.com/roadshow which will update details of venues and equipment as it travels around the country. Further help and information can also be gathered by telephoning 0208 490 3500.
