Buxton Press has installed an additional Stahlfolder, its fifth, to help meet increased workloads at the magazine plant.
The company has selected the Sthalfolder KH 78 because a combination folder is right for the straightforward 16, 8 and 4 page sections it handles. It does not have a lot of complex needs so a buckle folder was not required. The standard sizes also determined the choice of a continuous feeder rather than a pallet feeder for the new machine.
"Stahlfolders have served us well and the new machines are very easy to run," says Kirk Galloway, Managing Director. "We like the changes they have put in on the fold plate, deflector plate and the air control that ensures a constant production throughflow. It has helped to reduce unit costs."
Buxton Press, which describes itself as an “output device for publishers”, prints 340 different monthly titles with an average run on 10,000.
