A new trade finishing house is setting up and will start trading next month. Ace Print Finishers will be based in a brand new 5,000 square-foot factory unit in Selecta Avenue, Great Barr, Birmingham.
Rob Hart is setting up the company with partner Peter Hill to offer a cut, fold, stitch service to sheetfed and web companies who require a good quality of finish and speed of turnround.
“Those issues are the reason behind our decision to buy our equipment from Heidelberg. I have been in finishing a long time and know their equipment’s reputation,” says Mr Hart. “We will initially run with four staff working extended days but hope to move to double days eventually. Our first year target turnover is £300,000 to £400,000. You don’t get contracts in trade finishing but we are confident printers who know us, and others looking for a focused service, will place work with us day to day.”
The company is installing: a POLAR 115X guillotine; two buckle folders, a TD 78 and a TH 66; and a Stitchmaster ST300 six-station saddle-stitcher with cover feeder. This will give it the versatility to handle a range of commercial work up to B1 format and, with the level of automation provided, to be price and speed-sensitive.
Close Print Finance, which has a reputation for supporting start ups with good business plans, has provided the finance for this project.
