Aaron Buys Speedmater SM 52-2 and Switches CtP Supplier to Build B3 Business |

Aaron Printing is adding a B3 press to run alongside its B1 Speedmaster and it has switched from a Screen PlateRite 8000 to the Heidelberg Prosetter 102 to enable it to handle the different format plates on a single platesetter.
Managing director Gary Nagioff says: “We have a six-colour B1 press but all our small work, about £2-5,000 a month, is put out. By bringing it in-house we will have more control and we can build new business. There are existing customers who give us large work who would place small format business with us if we had the facility and there will be companies who place B3 business with us who will then try us with larger format jobs.”
The company has run a Screen PlateRite 8000 but it can only handle B1 and B2 format plates so Aaron Printing is switching from thermal to visible light, taking the Prosetter 102 which can handle B1, B2 and B3 plates. At present the West Molesey company has B1 and B3 but Mr Nagioff hopes that in due course sales will build enough to enable it to plug the B2 gap, possibly through acquisition or merger.
The company has switched from Taiga to PrintReady networking software and the Prosetter has been installed. The Speedmaster SM 52-2 arrives at the end of this month and will be used for full colour process jobs as well as spot colour work. The excellent registration and the top of the range automation on the Speedmaster SM 52 make it an ideal B3 press for this company which will handle runs averaging 2,000 to 10,000 range.
The press will initially run a single shift moving to double days as volumes demand.
