Tharstern to Outline Co-operative Work with Heidelberg at User Group

30.05.2005
Heidelberg continues to extend the number of third party MIS systems that can be connected to its Prinect networking system and at Tharstern’s User Group in Bradford on 7 June the results of many months of close co-operation will be demonstrated.

Lance O’Connell, Prinect and prepress marketing manager for Heidelberg UK, says: "Although Heidelberg has its own MIS product we have always committed to open JDF connectivity and our projects with all major MIS suppliers is at an advanced stage and beginning to move from development work to commercial reality. Tharstern and Heidelberg have worked well together on this project and soon we will be able to take our connectivity into the field to help customers gain efficiency by linking business and production operations together seamlessly."

Keith McMurtrie, managing director of Tharstern, says: “The pooled expertise of Tharstern and Heidelberg is positioning us to offer customers speedy and comprehensive links between MIS and the shopfloor. Data taken by an estimator will be able to digitally link to prepress, press and postpress operations and management information which will equip company directors to make really informed decisions will be fed back in real time. JDF and networking is good news for the printing industry and its customers and we are glad to be at the forefront of developments.”
